Kiwanis Club Of Sierra Vista Programs

Kiwanis Wonderful World of Stories

Our Kiwanis members read to eight preschools monthly and give each student their very own book to take home.  This is our "Students Priority One" project and supports literacy at home.

Honors Breakfast

Our Kiwanis honors the top graduates from each of the local high schools in May.  Students are honored with a delightful breakfast and a certificate.  Parents and family members are invited to celebrate these outstanding students.

High School Scholarships

Our Club presents several scholarships to High School seniors.each year.

1. John Fiscus Scholarship- Career and Technical Education

2. Carl Krueger Memorial Scholarship

3. Lou Dietz Memorial Scholarship

Currently scholarships are $1000

Kiwanis Skate and Bike Court

Our club and Foundation spent 5 years raising money to help the city of Sierra Vista begin planning for a Sierra Vista Kiwanis Skate and Bike Court.  We are very proud that we were able to present nearly $90,000 to the city for this project.  The SV Kiwanis Skate and Bike Court in Veteran's Park was dedicated in 2008.

Community Christmas Tree

In 2021 our club Foundation partnered with the city of Sierra Vista to help raise $35,000 to purchase a 20' LED Christmas tree for Veterans Park.  We thank the community members and businesses who supported this project as well as the many Kiwanians who raised funds and donated money.  In 2023, we raised another $5629 to grow the tree to 22'.  Our partnership with the Sierra Vista Parks and Leisure department has been a real asset for our community.

Highway Clean UP

The Kiwanis Family and friends pick up trash 3 times a year along Highway 90 from Tractor Supply to the Hospital.  We love to see our Student Leadership programs working together in community service.

Don't Meth with Us Program

We offer the" Don't Meth With Us" program to 5th grade students in the local elementary schools.  Program coordinator, Laura Miller teaches the students about the dangers of meth and other drugs.  Each student receives a t-shirt when they attend the training.

Library Outdoor Space Donation

The SV Kiwanis Community Foundation donated $7000 to the city  of Sierra Vista Library to help fund this new amazing outdoor space at the library.   The Kiwanis International Logo is on the plaque on the wall.

In 2009 we also donated $10,000 for playground equipment and park benches.  Additionally we donated $600 for the AV Anderson Disc Golf Course on 7th Street and $5400 for arcade games at the Teen Center.
